The American Chemical Society (ACS), the leading US learned society publisher, has become the latest publisher to provide full-text journal articles for distribution to UK institutional repositories via Jisc’s Publications Router service.
Building on transformative agreement
ACS publishes more than 65 international journals covering research in chemistry and related disciplines. It is providing Router with open access articles from across its entire list, including articles that have become open access as a result of the transformative agreement agreed with UK institutions via Jisc Collections.
They are distributed under a Creative Commons licence with no embargo.
Delivering your articles promptly
The articles are deposited immediately after publication in an issue, which is nearly always within eight weeks of acceptance – and usually much sooner.
The Router service then matches them to participating UK institutions to which any of the authors are affiliated and delivers them into the relevant repositories or research information management systems. They are accompanied by rich, authoritative metadata, including details of the article licence, avoiding the need for institutions to check and enter this information manually.
Further information
The Router service is available to Jisc member HEIs in the UK that have compatible systems – and there’s no additional charge.
If you’d like more information, do get in touch via help@jisc.ac.uk, mentioning Publications Router in your subject line. We’ll then take you through how you can start receiving articles, to help you decide whether Router is right for you.
